ABOUT

I am a recent Fine Arts graduate of Buffalo State College as of Fall 2020, earning a B.F.A. in Printmaking and Drawing, as well as a B.A. in Art History. I have been a mixed media artist since the early 2000s and have explored many avenues in regards to material utilization and manipulation.

I have been the sole owner of Madeline Brown Art LLC since 2017, and specialize in reverse glass paintings. Using vintage frames and glass panels I create compositions which utilize both sides of the glass surface to dissect the image and explore the boundaries of two-dimensionality. The execution of this technique can be seen in my portrait work throughout my professional career. I also offer more conventional portraits on Bristol board, using watercolor and colored pencil.

As of July 2020, I am also a published illustrator and have created large-scale paintings for the set of a national daytime television program. I regularly collaborate with other professional artists and artisans to explore different mediums, both 2 and 3 dimensional.

The original works I create explore themes of feminism and the female experience, and draw influence from street art, nature, tattoo culture, the macabre, and western art history imagery.
